Miltenyi REA antibodies conjugation

Hi! Do the Miltenyi REA antibodies behave well in metal conjugations? Using these antibodies might give a clearer signal which will help in our work on human cells.

Thank you! Chantel

Re: Miltenyi REA antibodies conjugation

Hello Cynthia,

have you tried to couple an REA antibody with cadmium (MCP9, Fluidigm) or does your experience relate to lanthanides in particular?

Kind regards
Nadja

Re: Miltenyi REA antibodies conjugation

Hi Nadja,

I have conjugated a few REA antibodies with X8/DN3, but I have not tried MCP9 conjugation with REA antibodies. However, since the actual conjugation chemistry is the same (TCEP-reduced antibody, maleimide-terminated polymer), they should work the same.

Have you tried REA+MCP9 and had problems?

I will say: like several other users, I have generally experienced slightly lower recovery with MCP9 (often 60%, based on Nanodrop A280) than with X8 (usually 70-80%). See discussion here: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=880&p=7352
- BTW, looks like Adeeb's 2019 post had a CD298 REA clone conjugation with MCP9.

Mike
