Yellow-Green Laser Issue on BD LSR Fortessa X-20

Hello everyone,

I recently encountered an issue with our BD LSR Fortessa X-20 flow cytometer, which is about 3 years old. During a run, the yellow-green laser turned off unexpectedly, and in the BD Coherent software the laser was showing a fault. However, after a few hours, the laser turned back on and started functioning normally without any intervention.

Has anyone experienced something similar with the yellow-green laser? Is it normal for the laser to turn off intermittently like this? I’d appreciate any suggestions or insights into what might be causing this issue and whether it’s something we should be concerned about long-term.

Thank you in advance!

Hi
I suspect you have posted this to the wrong message list!

Anyway, yes, we've had coherent lasers just switch off. We've understood it to be the laser starting to fail.
power cycling the laser, rather than hitting off and on in the coherent connection app, seems to reset it for a while.

As our cytometers are under a service contract, including lasers, we would call it in for a replacement laser if it happens more than a couple of times
