For us double width was not related to barcoding, fixation or any other staining composites. We tested it a lot.
It was happening on one machine. When we divided same sample and acquired it on two separate machines at the same time, only one machine was giving double width. FLuidigm did not solved the mystery so far. Now we have two brand new XTs and I havent seen this issue yet.
