No Gas/Current optimum is found

Hi guys!

I’m facing the problem that I can’t pass the tuning and always have the problem of no optimum of Gas or current.
I’ve washed all parts of Helios and reassemble them back but still have this problem.
Is there anyone can share their experience on this issue?
Thank you

Jenny

Hi Jenny,

Do you see *any* Tuning solution signal?

If so, how steady is it in the Masses "rainbow line" plot?

Re: No Gas/Current optimum is found

Hi Mike,

Thank you for asking!

Yes, I can see strong signal of Tb( around 1,000,000 duals) and all rainbow signals were stable during previewing.
Tuning keep running until the Gas/Current. All previous steps were completed and from QC report were all pass.
Only the final step, from the message, no Gas/Current optimum is found, and then the tuning result was shown as “Not complete.”
Could you think of any possible reason?

Hi Jenny,

You can try ‘Apply Results’ (in the Tuning Manager) from a recent previous tuning which passed (full tuning protocol), then try tuning again.

Re: No Gas/Current optimum is found

Hi Jenny,

One thing you also might want to check is for gas leaks. This could be a faulty gasket, or one of your lines might be cracked somewhere. There is no great way to test this, but if you are confident that you've had a recent PM and your gaskets are good, then maybe spray some of your tubing with a soapy water mix to see if you see bubbling that can be a sign of a leak. It could be you have enough gas coming through to run it, but it is non-optimal when you ramp up the gasses for tuning.

Re: No Gas/Current optimum is found

Hi Jenny,

how about the min/max values for current and gases during the tuning? Did you select the automatic range or a custom range?
Maybe the optimal tuning requires values outside the selected range?

Re: No Gas/Current optimum is found

Hi all,
Thank you for asking!
We sorted out the problem recently with the engineer.
We've been using Full Tuning Protocol and the max of makeup gas was set at 0.8
It was the reason as the optimum suppose to be higher(around 0.83) so I hadn't been able to pass the tuning.
Now the makeup gas end is 0.9.
Hopefully we can easily pass the tuning in the future!

Re: No Gas/Current optimum is found

Hi Jenny,

At least compared to my Helios instruments, a MG of 0.9 seems really high.

Different instruments *can* have a different standard aetting, but is 0.9 historical for you?

Like, if your historical value was like 0.85, then a value of 0.9 might be reasonable.

But if you previously had a standard value of 0.5, then 0.9 teflects a problem with the instrument, regardless of whether it passes.
