EDTA in staining buffer?

I'm curious whether others use EDTA in their CyTOF cell staining buffers.

I typically used to use 1-5mM EDTA in my flow cytometry staining buffers but haven't been doing this for my CyTOF buffer. Any reason not to?

Re: EDTA in staining buffer?

Hi Adeeb,

For the antibody staining steps, we usually use what we call CyFACS: 1x PBS, 0.1% BSA, 2mM EDTA, in MilliQ water.

We haven't noted any issues.

Re: EDTA in staining buffer?

Hi guys,

I hope everyone is doing well.

Just wanted to ask, what's the benefit of adding EDTA into the Cell Staining Buffers?

And is there any benefit in adding EDTA to the antibody cocktail/staining step as well?

Many thanks,

Jahangir
