Is there any CyTOF interference with electron microscopy?

Hello,

we are about to prepare our lab for CyTOF, colleagues next door are concerned that CyTOF might produce some interference (magnetic field) to their measurements on electron microscope placed in an adjacent room. Are there any reports of interference (or lack of thereof?).

Thanks for any insight, Tomas Kalina

Re: Is there any CyTOF interference with electron microscopy

Hij,

Magnetic field may interfere on the resolution of electron microscopy, but i don't think it will cause considerable effect on electron microscope since CyTOF is not placed in the same room.

A quick response with more specifications to follow: CyTOF instrument is heavily shielded; so an electron microscope next door is absolutely safe.
