Postdoc position in Roan Lab at UCSF, San Francisco CA

Subject: Postdoctoral fellow position in the lab of Dr. Nadia Roan (Associate Professor, UCSF) to study HIV transmission and pathogenesis

An NIH-funded postdoctoral research position is available in the Roan laboratory at UCSF. The goal of the project is to characterize the types of tissue immune cells susceptible to latent and productive infection by HIV, to understand the mechanistic drivers of viral persistence, and to identify biomarkers of latently-infected cells and signatures of HIV-associated disease. For the project, the successful candidate will learn and implement CyTOF, Single-cell RNAseq, Antibody-seq, and other recently developed single-cell analysis tools. We are seeking an independent and highly motivated candidate with a Ph.D. in the life sciences, preferably immunology or microbiology, with experience in tissue culture and flow cytometry. Of particular interest would be those with additional experience in CyTOF and/or single-cell RNAseq analysis. The successful candidate will have appointments at both UCSF and the J. David Gladstone Institutes.
