Administrative announcement

Dear CyTOForum member,
It appears that we are having a few glitches in the forum engine.
As a result you may have experienced the following:
1) Your registration was awaiting approval for a very long time (more than a couple of days).
2) You are not getting email notifications for all posts.

If this is the first message you are getting from the forum you are probably in category (1). I went through the admin dashboard today and approved several "hidden" requests dating back to an embarrassing January registration date. My apologies for those of you who were frustrated by the wait. In the future I will be more proactive about monitoring the request queue for such "hidden" new user registration.

If you are already receiving email notifications from the forum, you should know that some may not have been delivered to your mailbox. After a bit of research it looks like this has to do with a hard limit that Gmail imposes on outgoing mail. When there is a large volume of posts per day (probably >2 or 3), some messages may not reach some or all members.
This phenomenon is pretty rare and I believe has affected <1% of all posts.
While I work to remedy this, I encourage you to visit the site every so often to check for unread or new posts. You will find convenient links for this purpose just above the forum thread box.

And yes, I am aware that it's a catch 22 and you may not get this email notification either... I hope that is not the case.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who contribute to the forum's discussion, our collective knowledge, and sense of community.

Happy CyTOFing to all!

Sincerely,
Ofir
